COJF: First question that we all want to know is will there be a map editor for Bound in Blood ? |

PK: We’re including ChromEd, our level and map editor with the PC version. It’s a full version of the tool that we used to build the entire game. It’ll come in a nice package designed to get mapmakers started on both multiplayer and single-player maps. Players will find that maps in Bound in Blood are bigger, better and balanced compared to the original Call of Juarez but we’re counting on the fans to impress us and the world with their own creations.

COJF: Will there be dedicated servers for multiplayer mode?

PK: At this point we can confirm a dedicated server for the PC version.

COJF: Will "vote to kick" be an option Or "vote to skip map" ?

PK: There are no plans to include voting options. Of course kicking or forcing a map switch will remain within the purview of the server admin.

COJF: In the multiplayer on the Xbox/ps3 version will there be a ranking and xp system?

PK: In place of a standard XP system we have created a unique solution which combines player growth and economy in a way that fits the Wild West theme of the game. Players have a bounty on their heads which changes to reflect their fighting skill and efficiency in completing objectives. There’s an intricate system behind all of this to make sure that everyone is rewarded fairly and without exploiting much weaker players. All the math behind this system is quite impressive but it boils down to the fact that playing ‘for real’ and fairly is the best way to accumulate bounty.
At the same time killing other players is rewarded in cash with an amount equal to their bounty. Money can be spent in two distinct ways. Upgrades are temporary increases in performance of a selected character class. Level one upgrades offset the main drawback of a class while level two upgrades further boost its strong suit. All upgrades last only for the duration of the current match.
All money remaining after the conclusion of the match is accumulated. It can then be spent to unlock new character classes. This is significantly more expensive than upgrades but permanent. In total there are 13 classes 8 of which need to be unlocked first. |

COJF: Are there going to be any new types of multiplayer games…aka wanted, bank robbery, skirmish?

PK: Here’s what we’ve got in store for multiplayer:
Shootout - A classic Deathmatch, based on Bounty instead of frags. |
Posse - A classic Team Deathmatch, based on team bounty instead of frags.
Wanted - A game mode which already appeared in the original Call of Juarez. One of the players is Wanted, only he can score points; the player who hunts him down becomes the new Wanted. When newly assigned, the new Wanted is invincible for 5 seconds.
Manhunt - A new game mode. There are two teams and one Wanted – the top player in one of the teams. If he survives for 60 seconds, the team scores. When he’s killed, a new Wanted in the opposing team is assigned (that’s the top player in the team).
Wild West Legends - A new game mode. One of the teams has several objectives to complete (some can be completed in different ways, some are optional). The opposing team is trying to prevent the completion within given time limit. Levels are strongly themed and based on events from the exciting history of the Wild West.

COJF: Will female characters be introduced and if so will you be able to play as female characters on the multiplayer?

PK: There are no playable female characters in the game although they do play a couple of prominent roles in the single-player story.

COJF: Will there be any new weapons added?

PK: Unlike the original Call of Juarez, the Bound in Blood multiplayer uses all the guns from the single-player campaign. There are 15 guns in total, a majority of them new to multiplayer. They’re scattered among the 13 classes to provide varied experience and challenges.
